DERMAPLANING

Does your hair grow back darker?

What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is exfoliation using a surgical scalpel to remove dead skin cells, vellus hair, dirt, and debris. Vellus hair is better known as "peach fuzz". The blade glides over the skin painlessly.

Benefits of Dermaplaning!

Dermaplaning is loved for the immediate results and the fact that there is no downtime. It is quick, depending on the facial you are getting it can take anywhere from 30-90 minutes. Afterwards, you'll have an easier makeup application/flawless foundation, you'll notice the little hairs and dry skin that made your skin look cakey, are gone! Dermaplaning can help with collagen production and the appearance of fine lines. Since you've removed the layer of hair and dead skin there will be an increase of the absorption of skincare products. Your skin will look clean, healthy, and bright!

Will my hair grow back darker?

Dermaplaning does not make your hair grow back thicker or darker. Your hair will grow back exactly as it was before the facial. Since dermaplaning is working on the surface of your skin, it cannot affect the root of the hair. This is why it's scientifically impossible for dermaplaning to affect hair growth. Your hair only changes with your hormones. When you go through puberty or menopause you'll notice a change in your body/facial hair. Your hair may appear to come back thicker after you dermaplane because you are cutting the hair blunt, when hair grows out normally, it is tapered.

Is dermaplaning for me?

Dermaplaning cannot be performed in individuals who are using Accutane, blood thinners or who have active shingles, hemophilia, or weak delicate skin. Dermaplaning is also discouraged if you have active or cystic acne, thick or coarse facial hair, psoriasis or eczema in the treatment area. Dermaplaning can cause irritation especially if you have sensitive skin, this usually goes away within 2-3 hours.
